Two Things I Saw at Noordhoek This Morning That I Want to Do!

This morning we did a gym workout at Noordhoek Beach. It is spectacular, particularly on a windless morning…

We climb the steps to Chapman’s Peak Drive and this is the view from the top…

While up there, I spotted a little red aeroplane flying low along the beach, turning past Kommetjie and swooping round to Scarborough before hugging the coast back again and heading towards Hout Bay. I really would LOVE to do that….fly over Cape Town in a small plane. I’ve got to find out how! I’ve Googled it before, but have yet to find the right website.

The other thing I see on a regular basis when we have done beach workouts are people riding horses on Noordhoek Beach. Now that is something that will cost a lot less than a flight over Cape Town and is easier to find out about. When I was a teenager I rode a lot and really enjoyed it. Riding a horse is like riding a bicycle – once you know how, you don’t ever forget, but you do get out of horse-riding shape. After a ride, I can expect a very sore rump for a day or two, but it is on my to-do list. Go horse riding on Noordhoek Beach.

I think one of the fun things about journeying through life is having things to look forward to. They can be big expensive things, like the plane ride or they could be less expensive things like the horse ride, but it’s good to have them. I noticed in years gone by that one of the nicest things about working a full life was having ‘treats’ each week. It gave me something to look forward to, from stopping at Olympia in Kalk Bay for a take away cappuccino to always meeting with my friends on a Friday. If you have something to look forward to, it makes life all the sweeter.

Right now I’m churning out work and it means long hours sitting at my computer. This week, the volume of emails coming in is relentless. I get it down to naught and by mid-morning the next day it’s up to a couple of dozen! I get excited by it. What a treat to have a job I can do from my home! 🙂

#233 of my 1000 thanks is another applicant for Jo’burg! 🙂

And from my Bible reading comes an amazing prophecy by Simeon when Christ was born. At a time when Gentiles were far from the frame of reference of the Jewish nation, out of the mouth, supernaturally, of Simeon comes these words, astounding those who heard,

Luke 2: 30-32

” For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.”

God’s great plan for all mankind was rolled out.

Amazing.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
