Today we made two major building payments. I had a call from Werner the builder who said the company that will be doing the foundations needs to order what’s required from Johannesburg and wants the deposit. I went through our paperwork and the one outstanding item was the Agreement we were supposed to sign with the company. I asked them to send the Agreement which they did. In reading it, they mention that the work must be done in conjunction with the Engineer. The terms of the Engineer include full payment as soon as work begins. This meant we needed to pay Paul the Engineer in full and pay the deposit for the foundations. I got hold of Julian. He transferred his half into my account and I put both payments through:
- R65 450 is the deposit for the Foundations.
- R32 600 is the Engineer fee for the project, unless he needs to visit the site more than his stated number of times.
Paul phoned and cheerfully told me that he will come round to sign the agreement – receiving payment also warms his heart, he said!
Tomorrow, the land surveyor will be at the site and will be able to position the house.
It’s going up there…behind the current cottage.
Our prayer is that Council will not demand departures – we have done everything to try to prevent departures – the house is planned to be perfectly positioned in the allocated space to not need neighbour consent. If the Council says we need departures, we will have to get all the neighbour’s permission (there are 6 of them). If one is difficult and does everything possible to stop us, then our build could be delayed for a very long time.
That could be the hold up. We hope for the best!
The Lord led us to be able to buy this place. And He provided the business that earned the money for us to pay for it in 2015. He has continued to bless us with work and now we have the money to do the build. We trust Him for a good journey.
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Yep. Today I received an email from a client on Upwork that I hadn’t heard from since December 2017. She asked me to do some voice-over work for her. It was unexpected and a nice surprise. 🙂 She needed a South African female voice to be the giraffe voice for a children’s game. Yep. My voice will be used for a giraffe! The Lord’s provision comes in many different ways!
With all the coming and going today, I managed just over 5 hours of work.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
