It’s such an interesting thing this. My work involves a lot of admin which I generally enjoy doing. So when Mike comes to me and says he needs help with a whole lot of his admin, how should I react. It’s easy to react like this:
But instead, I tried this:
I did what I thought he had asked, not knowing what the heck was going on with the information he needed, and emailed it to him. He was gracious enough to accept my humble offerings without complaint. I was very aware that I probably did a bit of a half-baked job on that assignment. So today when he came to me again, this time wanting some files from my computer, I jumped all over it immediately.
It’s a good lesson for me to learn. When my boss says she has something for me to do, I get to it and produce the goods as fast and as thoroughly as possible. I need to respond to Mike’s request as quickly! After all, he is far more important than my boss. Good lesson learned.
Today has been a really busy day. I got to do more than 7 hours of work. I went to gym at 8am. It’s Grid day. I walked really fast for 25 minutes, then did the Grid, then went on the stepping machine for 5 minutes before wrapping up with a few of the other machines. Then I came home and worked until just about 5pm.
#611 of my thousand thanks today, I started to write that it is for a full day’s work. For that I am grateful, but then I spot in my diary, a note to myself that Stacey is 33 weeks pregnant today. That shoots to the top of my heart and my gratitude spills over. It won’t be long.
2 Corinthians 8:7
But as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you – see that you excel in this act of grace also.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
