It’s one thing that I really don’t like doing – going away without Mike. I think it could be because deep down inside, I am not as confident as I appear to be and Mike provides a confidence booster. So off I go to do a job I’ve never done before, speaking to people I’ve never met before and providing support that I’ve never provided before. I am amazed that the people who have asked me to do this have this amount of confidence in me! I’m sure I can do what is needed, just it will be a first. I’ll do my best.
It is only 3 nights. I bought a few little snacks for Mike…
You don’t have to be newly wed to do this kind of thing! Just means I’m thinking of him and I can vouch for the fact that the bed is very large and lonely when you sleep in it all by yourself. No doubt there will be some long night time conversations.
I’m taking all things technical – netbook, tablet, cell phone – so hopefully will get the blogs up at some stage and I’ll keep you posted. One of the things that surprised me is the hotel out of which I am working (although I’m staying with my brother), charge R5 per minute for internet access! Another world out there.
Ephesians 4:6-7 are the perfect remedy for times like this…
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
