Wednesday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day I had a little, fortunately non-consequential, fall. It happened after Julian arrived and we were up on the building site looking at progress. As I walked back towards the stairs, I thought I was walking on rock but instead it was sand and I slipped falling forward and banging my right knee on the rocks. A-o, it was sore! I really thought I’d hurt my knee. I hobbled back inside and put an ice pack on it. When I had a closer look, I had a fat shining bruise with a little broken skin & some swelling just below my knee. My knee itself is fine so going up and down the stairs won’t be a problem. It’s just going to be sore for a few days. I decided to lie on my bed and rest it before dinner and while I was doing so, I went onto You Tube. This was recommended to me. Wow! Joni Eareckson Tada is now 74 and is living out her older years in a lot of pain. In this interview, she is candid about her suffering.
What an example. Certainly worth the 30 minutes of viewing. I wouldn’t have watched it if I hadn’t fallen.
Today was also the day we walked across to Sun Valley to pick up the car. This was probably about half way – it’s looking back from Ranger Rd.
Home for breakfast and then I worked 5 hours. Almost the end of the month.
Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx
