9-14am
I have been finding joy in the menial things! There is no need to rush at my house any more. I can patiently meander through the day, doing a bit of this, cleaning out that. It is not a small job. We have accumulated 25 years of stuff, had 2 children leave their leftovers and some of Mike’s Mom aka Granny’s contents still have to be sorted. Yesterday, Mavis and I spent a few hours cleaning the cottage. Job is almost done. Next step is to get new curtains.
Yesterday, I decided to sort out one of Mike’s cupboards. It turned out pretty well….
But the van Niekerks have a problem! We have HUNDREDS of odd socks! To illustrate just how bad this problem is, here on my keyboard lies a never worn sock.
It is brand new, yet even it has lost its partner. Where could it have got to? Is there a massive black hole that sees socks and sucks them in? I am beginning to think so. BUT I will conquer this! It is my aim to have the home in Cape Town that does not suffer this debilitating sock malady! I am gathering socks & soon I will sit down with all the offended parties and try and have a major reconciliation!
This morning, I sat in the our home studio and recorded a 5 minute audio blog. I was interrupted by a phone call, & I just carried right on, so you get the call as well….my side of it anyway…
Helga’s Audio Blog 5th June 2014
Here’s what I posted on the Helga’s Daily Blog Facebook page this morning:
It’s Thankful Thursday! “Times of Refreshing” This phrase is so attractive. It’s something we want in our lives. We go away on holiday and say it was refreshing. Maybe a long weekend would be a time of refreshing. The phrase appears in the Bible in the book of Acts where Peter is speaking after a man was miraculously healed. He gives a couple of guidelines so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. If you feel you need God’s refreshing on your life today – to feel awash with His Spirit and the fullness of His grace, you just need to act upon the start of the verse. Acts 3:19
“Repent then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord…”
With repentance and turning to God, comes forgiveness from God and times of refreshing will follow. What a blessing, available to each one of us today!
God bless you and have a magnificent day!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
