The Channel Grows

Monday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day  that dawned with a beautiful sunrise.

I went for a morning walk and took a photo of the derelict house up the road. It is being reconstructed.

This was what it looked like in November last year…staircase is gone and the bottom section has been built in…

We have our own construction going on but it’s making a channel which will eventually be for the funicular. The channel began at the top, pipes laid, levels done and then steps built. So currently there are two sets of steps along side each other. The right hand stair case will be used for the builders when the house up the mountain gets built. Once that’s done a funicular rail will be installed over the steps. That’s what we are aiming for.  You can see at the bottom of this photo, more of the channel is being dug…

Courage did the top part while we were overseas. Now the next section is under construction. This is the middle part.

And this is as far as we are going for the moment…

The pipes for this section, we hope, are going in tomorrow. Also, tomorrow, Chris, the funicular guy is popping in to see what is needed and we may ask him to do the design for it. Today I was surprised to look over the balcony and see Mike in his overalls in the channel with a spade in his hand – on-site supervision of the team working on the digging! 74 is not looking bad on Mike!

It was a good day. What also made it good was there was a stunning outcome in a chess game last night between Magnus Carlsen and young Indian, Gukesh Dommaraju. The odds were 95% in Carlsen’s favour. So imagine the drama when this happened….

I was so shocked at the Magnus reaction! Stunning stuff!

Proverbs 16:17
He who guards his way guards his life.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
