The Building of a Road

They said it will take three years to build the road behind us, so what we are seeing is really just the birth of it. Mike and I took a walk to have a look at what they are busy doing…there is a humongous mound of earth…

They have flattened a large chunk of land…

And here’s the bulldozer doing all the work…

Mike and I carried on walking and went via the Sun Valley pond to see if it looks any higher after last night’s rain…it doesn’t really…here it is for the record…

Today we woke up late! First I woke with the cat trying to get out…that was around 3am. I opened the window, although it was pouring with rain and she jumped out! Then I waited a bit and called for her to come back in again but she was nowhere to be found, so I closed the window and went back to sleep, waking again at, wait for it, 7-45am! :0

What a treat.

The day passed pleasantly enough with occupation and relaxation. I’m loving my job and I’m loving being at home.

#340 of my 1000 thanks came to mind as I made cappuccino for us this morning. It was for the coffee machine! What a lot of pleasure we get out of it.

It was a good buy.

Paul and Nadine gave me an idea for our trip later in the year. They take the single cup coffee plungers with them and use the plunger to drink out of as well as it traps the coffee under the plunger. I looked on-line and found a pocket plunger which looked pretty nifty and is certainly worth thinking about. It comes from Espressii and they also had this on their website:

  • Coffee is the world’s second largest traded commodity after oil by value.
  • 1.4 billion cups of coffee are consumed every day.
  • Once ground it can lose up to 50% of its flavour in 1 to 2 weeks!
  • The world’s largest consuming nation of coffee in total is the United States of America, followed by Germany, Japan, France and Italy

Life’s too short for horrible coffee!

It is in my nature to be a positive person.  I have no idea of how I would cope in really hard circumstances, but if I ever find myself in them, I hope that I will turn to the Psalms and repeat the words of Psalm 146:2

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

It’s a verse I am memorizing.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
