7-23am
An early blog today. When we woke up this morning, Mike wished me Happy Mother’s Day. And I, for the first time since I celebrated my first Mother’s Day 26 years ago, said something to him that I’d never said before. I said, ‘thank you for the part you played in making me a Mom!’ 😉 He replied, ‘it was MY pleasure!’ Lol.
The privilege of being a Mom far outweighs the need to be celebrated on this day. For me the greatest blessing comes in seeing my children living out their faith in Jesus….loving God and loving people. That is the greatest gift. To see them be normal, to be working, to be earning, to be thriving, I could wish for nothing more. So I celebrate them today and I thank them for being such great children to raise. They have not given me any grey hairs (ha ha! and I thought it was the zinc! – family joke!). So from these early days…
…thank you for being such great kids, and that includes my wonderful son-in-law, Adrian, as well! 🙂
Psalm 127 vs 3
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him.
Mother’s Day Plans…we are off to church and then to a coffee shop for a cappuccino and chocolate croissant! 🙂 Yes, my favourite carb.
Then home to make lunch. I’m filling chicken fillets with cream cheese & parsley & wrapping them in streaky bacon. I’m so looking forward to doing that. This afternoon, 9 holes of golf sounds like a really good idea….remember: I don’t play, I just caddy for Mike, but it’s such fun!
It’s our first Mother’s Day without Granny, so I think of her today. I also think of my Mom and all the other Moms who did their bit in mothering me when I was younger. Even though they weren’t ‘blood Moms’ they made a difference in my life and I am grateful for them….thinking of Beulah McGuiness and Wyn Beale! 😀
Have a happy day!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
