11-32am
Golf and rain don’t really go well together and rain was not something I expected this week. It has POURED down today. It was very heavy overnight and still raining when we woke up. We watched it from our bedroom door….
Certainly duck’s weather. The gardens of our B&B are lovely… this is a closer look at the Koi pond…
Anyone for chilli?
The river was flowing far faster this morning…
After breakfast, no rain would deter us from walking into town. The streets of Swellendam are beautiful and picturesque…
From Faure Street we turned left into Voortrek Rd and past the Swellendam sign…
The main landmark on Voortrek St. is the NG church…can’t miss it!
By then rain was BUCKETING down, so we hot-footed it to the Mall and hunkered down at Charlies’Bakery for tea…
The rain soon let up and we continued our walk towards Adrian and Stacey’s place. We laughed at Swellendam’s first fire engine…
It was imported from England in 1860 and used 5 years later in the Great Fire of Swellendam. Forty of the town’s finest buildings were destroyed. Surprisingly, this fire engine was still being used in 1952! It must have been a challenge using this to put fires out!
I LOVE Swellendam! I am hoping the rain will abate by this afternoon, leaving clear skies for apparently a bit of a night time meteor show…
Psalm 8:3-4
When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You care for him?
When you look at the stars, remember God’s thinking more about you than about them!
God bless you!
In His Grip,

Gratitude – today my Mom would have celebrated her 82nd birthday. It was lovely to see a photo of her I had never seen before. My sister, Anne posted it on Facebook. Thanks Annie! xx Ma celebrates in heaven…
She’s with my nephew Darryl when he was a baby…more than 25 years ago. Miss you Ma! xx
