Sunrise Rays

Wednesday

Today was the day…

I woke up after a fabulous night’s sleep.  So many nights I wake up in the small hours of the morning and lie awake for an hour or two, but last night I slept through. We woke to sunrise rays…

True to Cape Town weather, the warm spring days have given way to a north wind, blowing the sea flat and driving in a cold snap. Rain is forecast overnight.

I did some work at home this morning, before going across to the old house and doing a few more hours. I also stopped by the doctor’s office to pick up a new antibiotic. Last night as I was complaining to myself about the fact that my toe is still not better, the phone rang and it was the doctor. He had the results back from the pus swab he took. The lab showed all the effective antibiotics and the one I was taking was not on it. So hopefully, this will do the trick…

The afternoon was spent on a bit of coming and going and now, the treat of the day is unfolding in the kitchen as Jess and Gerrie whip up a really lovely dinner. Wonderful aromas are floating through, and serving will soon take place so time to go.
