Major fail today when Mike’s cell phone got pocketed while he was in the bank. He walked away from the counter and didn’t notice he had left it sitting there. The next person in the queue simply put it in his pocket. The big thing is that this is a Xiaomi cell phone and so doesn’t have a removable sim card or battery. It has fingerprint recognition so there’s not much that can be done with it. So irritating. The reason we moved to Xiaomi, apart from them being super smart phones is that they are much less expensive than our previous Samsung. R6000 less. So while there is a financial loss, it could have been worse. Mike has only had it a few months as well so he hadn’t rebuilt his whole life around it. It’s only stuff. But so disappointing to see people be so dishonest.
Rather be the victim than the thief.
#771 of my 1000 thanks is that Mike’s old Samsung phone which had the screen shatter is insured. Until now he hadn’t checked, but he’s just got off the phone from the insurers and it’s covered.
Today, I worked 7 hours or more, cleared my inbox and did a whole lot of other stuff. More success came when one of my South African teachers got a fabulous offer from a school in the UAE. I’m so happy for her.
Today I paid my tax.
Today Julian arrives. It’s been a month since we last saw him.
Shortly dinner will arrive as well.
I’m starving.
Yesterday I filled the bird bottle with fresh nectar. Birds have come in droves…usually little sunbirds…
There have also been some bigger sparrow-like birds so the juice is going down a whole lot quicker! I’ve enjoyed having the balcony doors open and working to the sound of birdsong.
1 Kings 8:56
There has not failed one word of all His good promise.
An unusual turn of phrase. God is faithful.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
Gym:
- 30 minutes fast walk
- 30 minutes on the Grid – my heart rate was 160 at the end.
- 5 minutes cool down on the bike.
It was great.
