Stretching my Eyes

Monday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day I got up early to start work. I began at just after 6.30am and worked for 9 hours. The day was overcast, so no Venus nor the moon, but we did get a glassy sunrise.

At the end of the day, I needed to stretch my eyes. I went for a walk around the neighbourhood and did a 4km route, returning via the mountainside. Fish Hoek at the end of the day.

By the time I got home, my eyes were feeling a lot better.

David came up for dinner and we had a good time talking about several different topics. He always makes us laugh. He also asked when Julian was coming, saying he was missing his uncle. Ahhh!

Raiku has settled very comfortably since we returned. While we were away, it seemed like a planet had moved in his furry little brain and he became very needy. David worked hard to keep him happy and at home, resorting in the end to closing him in at night. Over the last week, he hasn’t been as vocal as before we left. He looks lovingly at me on every occasion, trusts me more (because after all I came back) & rewards me with multiple headbutts. He is sleeping better at night, seldom disturbs us and is altogether far more settled. Sweet cat.

We are still threatening to get him a kitten. We need to manage the introduction and socialization well so they bond and become friends, so it needs some thought.

A full but satisfying day.

This is one of the Bible verses I learned off by heart when I was a teenager.

Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
