8-14am
This has been a lovely weekend so far. This morning as we woke up and drank our early coffee, there were a whole lot of things we could do today. Things that are different to the usual. But sometimes when you add too many things to life, it becomes complex and messy! So eventually Mike said to me, ‘let’s stick to the game plan today.’ ‘Good idea,’ I responded…’so remind me, what’s the game plan again?’ We didn’t really have a ‘game plan’ for today, but it was a way of saying ‘let’s simplify.’ So we decided on a ‘game plan’. We would go to church, have lunch and a rest and then this afternoon we would go an play another 9 holes of golf! 🙂 Mike is playing in a competition next month that requires a handicap. If he doesn’t have a handicap then they will make him play off a 12 which is a bit on the low side for us newbies! To get a handicap, he has to submit 5 cards (18 holes each!) At the moment he has 1. If today, we complete yesterday’s card, he’ll have 2. Then next weekend, we have to try play 18 holes and then he’ll have 3, giving him more than a month to get the final 2. That’s why we are playing so much golf. I say ‘we’ but it’s actually only Mike – I’m carrying the bag! But there’s two things here that are good lessons to remember (specially in marriage). One is to simplify – get back to basics! And the other is to communicate. Be on the same page.
1 Corinthians 14:33
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
And that’s what He wants for us. Peace!
It’s another spectacular day in the Mother City. The sun is shining; the sky is blue; there’s a slight rustle of the wind in the trees; the birds are tweeting amidst the grapes. All seems well with the world.
God bless you today!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
