Tuesday
Today was the day…
We had a seed thief! Slowly but surely the birds have been coming and eating the seed. I have put it in the trees protected from the wind. Today, I peered out the laundry window and saw something very strange in the seed cage. It was furry! It was very still and literally had its body curled over the seed ball – protecting it from anything else. Every now and again I saw its little head moved and nibble away at the seed. It seemed in ecstasy. Never before had it come across such easy food and so much of it.
Field mouse!
I went outside to see if I could get a photo…in time to see it not scuttling, but rather dragging its overfed body down the branch to its nest at the foot of the tree.
I didn’t see that coming. I think I may be moving the seed soon.
Today I met with friends to talk and pray…
And in the afternoon, I did laundry. We are still figuring out how this is going to work.
Werner popped in for a chat. Julian’s floor is just about complete. The only thing outstanding is the trapdoor to his roof needs painting. The stairwell still needs finishing, but that should be done tomorrow and the cornices in our scullery should be finished tomorrow as well. Then the floor below ours should get all the attention – once done, David will be able to move into that. Julian is about to land. Jess and Gerrie have gone to collect him.
And the happiest news of the day is that Anne’s son, my nephew, Darryl got engaged! Yay!

Psalm 138:2
I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.

Helga xx 🙂
