Sunday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day, I did more reading of my book on Saint Helena. It’s getting closer. Three weeks from today, God willing we will be on Saint Helena Island. The book is a rich catalogue of island life, from small daily events to massive Island happenings. On looking online for more details of the author, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Very little information to be had, except I found her husband on Facebook and he had this as his profile photo. Surely, this must be their home on Saint Helena Island. Villa Le Breton.
The book relates the many conversations taking place on that veranda. It’s going to be interesting to see if we can find the house.
Today has actually been really busy. By 8am, I was down making beds in the cottage. Ruth arrived and got cleaning. By 10am, we were done and by 11am, the 5 guests arrived. At just after 12noon, the daughter of guests coming to the Seaview apartment tonight arrived to put in some groceries. Once I’d let her in, I went shopping and then came home and cooked lupper.
It has been an afternoon of watching SA play an epic game of T20 cricket against the West Indies. After the WI batted first and posted a formidable total of 258, SA was said to only have a 19% chance of winning. That soon changed as Quinton de Kock was steaming! He scored 100 off 42 balls. It became the highest successful run chase in T20 ever.
Really exciting stuff. It’s the best of 3. The decider is on Tuesday evening.
A good day.
Psalm 84:5
Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
Pilgrimage that will end in eternity. The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
