Hebrews 12:1: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
For Granny, this is the end game! She could quite possibly live another 5 years, but they won’t be easy years. She is old and frail and life does not hold many joys for her…except food! 🙂 This morning I woke up at about 6-30 and went downstairs to find her struggling out of bed. So off we went together to the bathroom and while Mike made tea for her and coffee for us, I showered her and made her comfortable. Back to bed she went and that is where she has pretty much stayed for the entire day! She didn’t want to get up for lunch, so she had lunch in bed as well as breakfast. She seems to have borne no serious damage in yesterday’s fall but is a bit stiff and bruised.
Often times when I am in her room, I look at the photos on her wall and bedside table of her parents…they perhaps are part of the cloud of witnesses – urging her on….observing my actions and reactions. Onward! Running with perseverance the race marked out for us!
I’ve done quite a bit of show prep today for the upcoming weeks. I’ve editted a 38 minute podcast down to 5 x 6-7minute messages for airing on a Monday on finding one’s soulmate. It’s by a young American preacher, Kerrick Thomas who is an associate Pastor for a church in New York City (called The Journey). I wrote to him asking his permission and he wrote back very quickly saying ‘go ahead!’Â It has taken almost all afternoon, but it is now done and the first message airs tomorrow at 7-22am on 107.5 CCFm Cape Town -wide. If you are reading this from anywhere else in the world, listen online at www.ccfm.org.za.
Adrian & Stacey joined us for lasagne and we enjoyed catching up with them. Love those two! It was a bit of a hazy day…
….or maybe my lens needs cleaning! Lol. 🙂
