Running from God; forfeiting His Grace

4-19pm

The first thing I noticed this morning when I walked into CCFm was the beautiful Christmas Tree. Xolani, the night manager had turned the lights off and so it was looking so pretty all lit up in the darkness..,

Then it was off upstairs to do final prep for today’s show. I nipped outside onto a wet balcony to take a picture of the drizzly ‘sunrise’…

The show went off without a hitch. PJ was in for the last time in a few weeks. After the show, I did all the music prep through to Wednesday next week. I have still got loads of show prep to get through before I can take leave between Christmas and New Year. I also have to pre-record Boxing Day and Jan 2nd. The preparation for that is huge (something like 6 hours per show!) Anyway, I have all of next week to get that done! 🙂

I’m in studio live tomorrow which I will enjoy! Laid back, easy going, chilled show. No pressure!  Mike may even come through with me, although I’m not sure whether we will hear him on air!

Paid the phone bill, got electricity too. Had a snooze this afternoon and have been following the cricket. SA have done very well against Sri Lanka, who were all out for less than 200.Now we are in and haven’t lost a wicket…

This morning I was reading the book of Jonah and this verse jumped out at me…(Jonah 2:8)

“Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.”

Today is the day to drop the stuff that chains us down and holds us back. “Worthless idols” – stuff  we put too much emphasis on. This was Jonah speaking – he was in the belly of the fish when he said this. His life was flashing before his eyes. He was very quickly seeing the error of his ways and with crystal clear clarity he was seeing that by running from God towards meaningless stuff,  he was forfeiting the grace that could be his. Let’s learn from Jonah’s mistake and not run from God.

Have a fabulous LONG weekend! Day of Reconciliation tomorrow for those who are out of SA.

In His grip, a safe place to be, in the lap of His grace!

Love from,

Helga 🙂
