Rollercoaster Continues

My rollercoaster continues.  Bear with me while I continue to process the burglary. It is taking longer than I thought. This morning when we woke up (I slept really well last night), Mike and I both felt we were getting on top of the unsettled feelings we have had following our 42 inch TV being brazenly whipped out from under our noses.  We went around the back a couple of times and there was no further sign of rocks or logs being used to look over our back wall.

But late this afternoon as Mike and I walked around the neighbourhood, it occurred to me that we had not really checked out one of our home’s vulnerable spots. I spoke about a few unlikely scenarios. Poor Mike. Helga neurotic again. I’m nervous. The intruder is brazen. And he is patient. He chiseled the lock off our back door under the cover of darkness. Then he waited and when all was quiet, he struck. A couple of weeks ago we noticed a large pot beneath our kitchen bay window had been knocked over. We automatically presumed it was a cat. But now we know it was probably the thief. When we got home from our walk I went to look at that window. To my horror, at the level of the window handle, it looked like someone had started to lift the putty from one of the cottage panes of glass!  We now have bright lights illuminating the front garden and our balcony, which may just spoil their party. What will be much better is when the new burglar bars are installed. The same ones we have in the cottage, they are as far as we know, impenetrable. I’ll be very happy when they are installed! It won’t be long!

Psalm 50:15

“Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

This morning we woke up to news that South African tennis star Kevin Anderson was in the process of beating American Sam Querry in the US Tennis Open for 2017. This was a quarter-final match and if Kevin won, he would be the first South African through to a semi-final since 1965.

Look! He won! And he now goes on to play P Carreno Busta in the semis.

May I take the liberty of saying that #410 of my 1000 thanks is for the thrill and joy that this victory bought. Patriotic Helga.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
