2-13pm
A rainy day in Cape Town…lovely to have the fresh air and cooler weather. After the show, which was crazy busy this morning (more than 200 smsses!), I did show prep for the week ahead and then left for Cape Town to visit Granny. She was keen for a change of scenery, so we got her up from her lounge chair and into the wheelchair & off we went. It was drizzling every so slightly, so I took her through the garden to the dining room on the other side. I had bought her some spanspek which she enjoyed. I googled ‘roses’ on my cell phone and we sat and looked at the most glorious looking roses. Then she suddenly spotted a squirrel in the garden outside. She so enjoyed watching it…
We had some fun with the camera…
I found it quite hard to leave her today. I’ll be back on Wednesday. One ankle is very swollen. Mike must have a look at it when he sees her tomorrow & maybe arrange for her to be seen by the Doctor.
I came home, made coffee and then picked up the book I am reading (thanks Graham and Jen!). I’m so enjoying it.
Despite being raised in a strong Christian environment and knowing so much about the gospel, Spurgeon was only saved at the age of 15 when he heard a sermon on Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.”
Being a highly intelligent boy, he didn’t think much of the preacher and later, described him as ‘really stupid!’ You can imagine a teenager commenting on a less than adequate speaker in those terms can’t you!? The preacher may have fallen short by human standards, but God’s Word never falls short and the impact of Isaiah 45:22 cut Spurgeon to the quick and he was saved.
I love the power of the Word of God.
Some show prep to be done for tomorrow. Professor Tim Noakes joins me in the studio for an hour – 7-8am, so it’s going to be another fun show.
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
