Ramble Around Tamboerskloof

It only costs a very small amount of money to take a drive to the other side of town and treat yourself to a generous morning of relaxation with a friend. Becoming a tourist in your own city is one of the best things you can do. No matter which city of the world you are resident, there will be a spot you have yet to discover. Anne posted this on Facebook  which just says it perfectly…

Small towns

So we didn’t take the bus but Riana and I did set off for Tamboerskloof to find The Blue Cafe which apparently carries some Banting options. I’ve mentioned before that Mike & I spent 6 months in the area right after we were married. The Blue Cafe building has been a landmark in the area (13 Brownlow Road) for about 111 years, so it’s well known. It has a colourful history, some of which you can read on their menu.

It is not huge and rambling, but it is beautifully nestled high up in Tamboerskloof with Table Mountain as a magnificent backdrop…

Blue stripe chairsI don’t know if it was Banting, but it was gluten free and certainly tasted high in nuts with dark chocolate and it was absolutely delicious…

Gluten free choc cakeI know! You want one immediately!

The cappuccino was equally as good…

Quaint townhouses in TamboerskloofIt was a beautiful break in what has been a busy week.  It’s good for us to take care of ourselves.

Go be a tourist in your own city!

3 John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

Most important is that it is well with our soul!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
