Phewee! I have learned something about toilet chemicals. Don’t mix them! We were using the Loo me stuff. After a flush, I squirted some Harpic power cleaner into the loo and gave it a clean. A little while later, I felt we were being gassed out. A stench of strong ammonia filtered through the bathroom and into our bedroom. It was dreadful! It took me back 30 years to the hairdresser’s seat when I was having my hair permed. Same smell only worse.
The same goes for jik and the Harpic power cleaner. They just don’t like to be mixed. From now on, I will be very careful.
It was good to have a little rain today. Mike went up on the roof yesterday to clean the gutters in the hope that we will get a bit into the tanks. We did, even if it was a very little bit. Here is my man of faith.
We went for a walk down to the pond today. This was it on 23rd and today a week later…
It’s getting lower and more covered with scum.
#553 of my 1000 thanks is that “Day Zero” (the day our taps run dry) has been pushed back 4 days. We are hoping and praying that day never arrives. We used 137 litres water (three of us) from 9am yesterday morning until 4pm today. That’s keeping within the 50 litre per day limit that begins in the next day or two. At the moment this is the new normal for Cape Town.
This evening we went to the Sun Valley Neighbourhood Watch meeting. All in all, crime in our suburb over Christmas and New Year was not too bad. Surrounding areas have been worse. Having said that, we have spotted the Vans shoe print around our area, so we remain alert and vigilant.
Psalm 139:1-3
Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
The Lord is always near.
We rejoice today – Stacey is 25 weeks.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
