Plumbing Pipes Go In

Wednesday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day the plumber came to put in the first of the pipes going down the hill to the road. It’s going to take some time to lay all 30m to the street. The first 9 meters were done today.

At 3pm, Quentin the building inspector came to have a look and approved of it all. Mike’s got big plans to wrap this section up, although it will take a bit of time. There is always something on the go.

I went for my early morning walk – this time heading to the beach so crossed the bridge in time for sunrise.

Looking towards home..

I walked along the sea front and over to Fish Hoek, stopping to let a train pass. When the driver saw me taking a photo, he/she whistled at me. That’s what I’ve found the drivers do. If you wave and they see you, they have a little train whistle they can blow. If they want to alert people, they blow the horn good and proper. I always like to get a whistle out of them. When I approached the track this morning, I got a hoot but when they saw me stop and take photo, they whistled.

I walked on, right through Fish Hoek and just past the High School and then turned left, over Kommetjie Road and up to Highway. The wind was blowing strongly and on more than one occasion I thought that Mike was only a call away if I didn’t want to do this any more, but then I looked at my watch and I’d only done 3km. I got home within an hour and the circuit was 5.4km I think. A pretty little entrance on Highway.

Home for a shower, breakfast and work. Lots of laundry also got done, so now we are all caught up.

There is much to be grateful for today.

Psalm 74:16-17
The day is Yours, and Yours also the night; You established the sun and moon. It was You who set all the boundaries of the earth; You made both summer and winter.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
