Perfect Day at Sea

Saturday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day we had a perfect day at sea. We left Seychelles last evening and made good progress throughout the day past Madagascar towards Durban.

This morning I woke early and when I looked outside, this is what I saw…

We have been two hours ahead of South Africa for the last while and today we had to turn our clocks back an hour. It meant that while I was waking at 5am, it was really 4am. It’s played tricks with me as my watch hasn’t connected to my cell phone. I need to remember that my cell phone clock is right. My watch clock is wrong. My laptop clock is set for South African time. Eventually, I hope to get them all synchronised. I think we’ll stay an hour ahead of SA for another day before we are instructed to turn back the clock for another hour to match Durban. Madagascar is an hour ahead of SA.

We didn’t rush down to breakfast but sauntered in at about 10am. The other day I watched a fellow passenger create a most amazing looking breakfast delight out of flapjacks. I decided to try do the same. It was really delish…

With there only being 6 breakfasts left, I may do the same tomorrow. All this food! We are still eating only twice a day and I did spend more than hour walking on the treadmill today. While at the gym, I saw a whale breach. It was such a great sight.  Back to the cabin for a shower. I also treated myself to this super fruit juice. I sat on the balcony and watched the world go by.

We have encountered a couple of ships passing by.

I took another walk around the deck and watched more deck games happening.

As the days slip away we are clinging to every experience, breathing in the fresh sea air and appreciating each day. We are not bored. We are still loving it and feel very privileged to be here.

Genesis 1:20
Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
