2-47pm
Windy and warm Cape Town. The weather should be cooling, but not today and I guess in the northern hemisphere where the weather should be warming, you are also saying, ‘not today!’ After a really busy show (232 smsses!), and a bit of work, I left to go and pick up Granny to take her for a drive. As soon as I arrive now, she starts trying to get up to go. We drove through the centre of Cape Town towards Sea Point and down to the Mouille Point car park where we sat and watched all the activity. Here’s Granny in the car…
The seagulls are very tame, but when I tried to get really close, this one took off…
A ship out at sea, a bunch of school children having their lessons on the beach (fabulous!) and a seagull in flight! Quite a photo!
I took Granny home past the Cape Town Stadium. She was very impressed with it…
I left her at lunchtime and headed home via the Mall. When I got in, I nearly had a meltdown because Mavis (who came back to work today) had left the window open and Truffles had bolted! 🙁 We looked for her all over the garden, but there was no sign of her. I phoned Mike dramatically saying, ” the cat’s gone!!” He calmed me down … Mavis was nearly in tears and kept repeating, “I’m sorry ! I’m sorry!” After I got off the phone to Mike I went downstairs and stood in the lounge with my hands over my mouth (to keep me quiet!). Poor Mavis. I thought to myself, “how must I react now? What if Truffles doesn’t come back?” We have a bad history of cats! I’ve been trying to learn Bible verses. Today’s was Psalm 56:3-4 which says, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God who’s Word I praise, in God I trust. What can mortal man do to me?” I ran what I could remember of it through my head & literally as I did so I looked out the window and there on the front lawn, with butter not melting in her mouth, lying on the grass, was Truffles! 🙂
Mavis just about threw a party! I phoned Mike back! Silly cat!
This is her rubbing her cheek against my cell phone just as I took a photo of her…THE EYE! Up close and personal!
Seeing as she has found her way home once, she can come and go as she pleases now. Lesson learnt.
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
