2-27pm
To get this, you have to rewind a week to the blog I wrote a week ago entitled “Little Things.” It’s the one about how gaga I was over Mike arriving out of the blue at CCFm to have a quick cup of coffee after the Thursday show last week. My days there are numbered and he thought he would just pop in. I waxed lyrical about this being what marriage is all about! Oh oh! I have discovered the truth about that visit! Jonathan, at CCFm, called Mike early last week and said they were planning a little farewell for me “on Thursday” and can he please come. Small detail: he didn’t mention which Thursday, so Mike presumed it was last Thursday. He came, I saw him, he realised it was the wrong Thursday and said he thought he would just pop in. Now it is true to say that he could have left the moment he discovered the mistake and he chose to stay and see me, but his whole motive for coming was for the farewell! So, he’s not quite as perfect as I made out last week…but he is very close to it! Do you know how much we laughed over that when I discovered the truth?! 😀
He was there this morning for the little surprise farewell, which was very meaningful. Listeners have been dropping gifts at CCFm, which makes me feel very humble and special…
Very blessed! I also received something I really appreciated. It will sit on my home desk and I will look at it from time to time with amazement… – a glass microphone on a stand with “Helga van Niekerk – 21 years of faithful service”
Hard to believe that I’m that person. To God be the glory for all He has done.
Psalm 126 verse 3 is on a plaque at the entrance to CCFm and that’s how I feel after all of this,
“God has done great things for us and we are filled with joy”.
Tomorrow is my last Rise and Shine. I won’t cry because it’s over. I’ll smile because it happened. Well that’s the intention, but there may be a tear or two because it’s over and because it happened!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
Gratitude Pics – all the above!
