Of Building Alterations and To-Do Lists

We haven’t done this for a long time. We are making a small alteration to the house.

Here we go…angle grinding begins!
Angle grinding begins

They got that entire window out with not a single crack of glass.

Hole in the wall

Out with the old, in with the new…

In goes the window and the door

Looking much better.

Window and door

Another (biggish) bite of the elephant.

Talking of which, I now have done a to-do list for three days. It definitely makes me more structured. I consulted with my to-do list expert…

To do list

I sense some to-do list rebellion coming out in me, but good intentions in the long run! 🙂 Some of the things I have to do still don’t make the piece of paper – they’re in my head!

I said I won’t do a to-do list and then I did. I said I will do a to-do list and then I didn’t!

One of the Bible verses that Mike regularly brings up is from a parable Jesus told.

Matthew 21:28-31, Jesus speaking,

‘What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, “Son, go and work today in the vineyard.”  ‘“I will not,” he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. ‘Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, “I will, sir,” but he did not go.  ‘Which of the two did what his father wanted?’
‘The first,’ they answered. Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.

There are many issues in the world – regarding relationships and controversies over what is right. Some don’t get married but remain faithful and committed to their partners for all their lives. Others get married and then divorced. You can’t control people and sometimes horrible things happen. Life can be very complicated!

Whenever you are faced with a choice, ask yourself, what is the wise thing to do?

Most times I find the answer in the pages of the Bible

There is nothing more powerful than the Word of God. That’s quite a loaded sentence. Nothing more powerful than the Word of God.

God spoke the world into life. The order of it all, the fragility of a butterfly, the miracle of a newborn baby, the giantness of an elephant, the tininess of an ant, the complexity of the human body – each and every created thing spills over with evidence of the Grand Designer.

Best to read it for yourself.  Start with the book of John in the New Testament. John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
