I had to smile yesterday when this sign went up at a house on my street…
Did you notice the fine print “JW’s only.” It is for Jehovah’s Witnesses only. The first time they had it, I was really shocked and even yesterday when I drove past, I was a little excited, thinking I could go and have a look at a garage sale. Then I saw the sign and remembered they had one some months ago. It’s a Friends Market, but not all friends are welcome – you have to be a signed up J Dub. Loads of people streamed to the street and visited the market. What exactly went on, I don’t know, but it went on most of the afternoon.
I feel like copying the sign and replacing “JW’s only” with ALL WELCOME and then putting flyers in all the postboxes! Maybe if we ever move and need to have a massive garage sale, that’s how I’ll market it.
This morning we woke up late and so never made the 8am church service. I went to Noordhoek Farm Village and bought breakfast and the newspaper and took them home to Mike. While there, I noticed a sign that made me feel that NFV is very much inclusive. Every one is welcome…they even have a parking spot for horses…
That’s how we need to be. Love everyone. Exclude no one, even the unloveable.
This afternoon was a treat. Mike and I headed off to Clovelly and met Dustin there for 9 holes of golf. It was so great to see him again.
And out of the golf comes number 652 of my 1000 thanks. For the cloud cover. When you play late in the afternoon, the glare of the sun can be blinding…not today….
Another highlight from today was a long chat with Stace. Things are getting closer. She’s past the 38 week mark and the grand countdown is on.
Isaiah 51:12
I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid.
We can trust God.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
