It’s a wonderful reprieve coming to Swellendam. This is one of the positive stories coming out recently….
There is an abundance of water, so we have been able to shower and do dishes and loads of washing without thinking too much about the implications.
But there’s more, which makes up #592 of my 1000 thanks and that is for the lack of wind and no dust. Coming from Sun Valley, where road works abound and the south-easter has been blowing gales recently, the dust has become hard to control. A break from it has been most welcome.
Today, Mike and I woke up quite early, but finally only got up around 7-30am. Adrian’s Dad came round and we then followed him to the Ko-op where we bought a few things. After getting home, I had work to do, so while Mike went off to golf, I sat down and worked for a few hours. In the early afternoon, I walked to the golf course, found Mike and walked around with him for the rest of the game. Altogether, I walked for 2.5 hours which was lovely. I also walked home from the golf course. I feel very safe walking around Swellendam. It’s quiet and peaceful and very picturesque…
This evening we went out for dinner and tomorrow we leave early for home. Stacey and Adrian have more guests arriving on Monday, so I want to leave them with as much of Sunday to have a break from visitors. We hope to visit again in a month’s time. By then she will be a week shy of 8 months pregnant. Exciting times ahead!
I’m appreciating this evening. Outside it is dark. The inky sky is cloudy – rain has fallen. A cacophony of frogs can be heard croaking out of the stream close by. It’s peaceful indeed. This is a pleasant place to visit. We look forward to coming back.
Ephesians 1:6
We praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
