New Year’s Eve Eve

The day before New Year’s Eve is New Year’s Eve Eve and that’s today! It was a very full day. I went to gym at 6am. I ran/walked 5km in 36 minutes and then swam. The swimming is getting easier. I swam 16 lengths in all. I managed to swim 4 lengths of crawl without stopping. I swam a couple of lengths of breaststroke and for the rest I swam two lengths and then rested.  Tomorrow I take a break!

From gym, I came home for an hour or two and then left for town where I met some of my colleagues who live and work in London. My direct line manager (Dee) who lives in Abu Dhabi was also there.

After a lovely morning, I took Dee and her husband to the airport as they are on their way back to Abu Dhabi. After I dropped them, I drove around to Hotel Verde which is right next to the airport and chilled in the lounge for 45 minutes. By then Julian had landed, so I picked him up and came home.

A little rest this afternoon and then dinner this evening at home with Julian, Jess and Gerrie, followed by part 4 of season 1 of The Crown. Stacey and Adrian are back in Swellendam and David is away for New Year.

And now it’s bedtime!

#522 of my 1000 thanks is that Mike’s wound (from the lesion on his back that he had removed) is healing well. I took the stitches out the other day and the wound looked fine. It was clean and had healed well. That evening  as he walked past me, I noticed blood on the back of his shirt. I pulled it up and gasped. The entire wound had broken open! It is not very long – maybe about 2cm, but it was gaping. I was shocked. I plastered it up and then next day got steri-strips and  closed it up using those. Today I changed the dressing and it’s much better!

So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

I feel I have really got the most out of today. Tomorrow I get to do it all again!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
