Sunday
Dear Elsie
Today was new guests day. The lovely Swedish couple who have been with us for a while, packed up all their belongings and filled their car to the brim. By 9am, they were on their way. Ruth came at 10am. I had been to the beach for a swim. Today, I swam 2km, came home, had breakfast and then spent the next few hours helping Ruth pull the cottage back up to scratch.
I went up and down the stairs to get things & by 1.30pm, we were ready. The guests arrived a few hours later and are settling in.
The cats curious about the events sat under the tree in the shade watching…
The other moving day was for our neighbours who are now settled across the road as the owners of their rented home arrived from Germany. While I was welcoming our young (German) guest to the cottage, Guenter and Marion arrived, so I introduced them, expecting them to speak German, but they didn’t – they spoke English. Our guest’s name is Julian so it’s easy to remember! His English is exceptional. He and his (South African) girlfriend are here until 12th March. He was very forward thinking as he made this booking 8 months ago. Clever chap – he got it at a very good price.
The day has been beyond spectacular. February is the hottest month of the year in Cape Town and today was one of those days that shone.
We can’t deny it’s summer.
David says he is feeling slightly better on the Low Dose Naltroxene.
My goal this week is to try and start the process of getting my unabridged birth certificate from Zimbabwe. I have the original hand written one but I need one with both my parents names on it. I don’t know if this is possible, but I’ve emailed a company.
To think both my parents handled this piece of paper. They would have been so happy when they got it. Helga Louise. Makes me warm and fuzzy.
I’ve gone to pick up my Bible to look up the verse I read this morning and put it here. It’s easy to remember – 2024!
Exodus 20:24b
Wherever I cause my Name to be honoured, I will come to you and bless you.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
