2-40pm
Our main plan this morning was to get up early and get over to the New Blue Route Mall before thousands and thousands of others got their first. The Mall itself is massive. Parking looks like it’s their biggest problem. When it’s busy, it’s gridlock. Yet when you go inside there seems to be a lot of open space. There’s just not a lot of open space for parking! It’s so strange going to a place which you think you will recognise and then you don’t. All the roads going in are familiar, but once you’re inside, nothing seems familiar. There are parts that resemble the old Blue Route Mall, but we didn’t go down the far end to where the movies are, so we didn’t see the familiarity…
We got there at about 8-40am and there were already loads of people…
This is my favourite photo of the day…looking to the Ground Floor from the 2nd floor…
It looks as if it goes on and on and on, when in actual fact, it ends just beyond the stairs and there is a wall of mirrors, so half the roof is reflected! Clever né? One big useful arrival is Dis-Chem! What a joy! Almonds for only R75 a kilo! We didn’t spend too much time there, but did what we needed to do and then left. We can get to know the Mall at a quieter time!
I’m told the movies now have love nests, a cosy two seater with no arm rest between the two…I guess they look a bit like this…So that was this morning. This afternoon I’ve just been relaxing. The weather is fantastic and no doubt the sunset will be as good as last night…
Today, part of my Bible reading was from Luke and it was a humbling reminder…
Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Everything Jesus taught is contrary to what we are told by the world around us. There is no place for pride, no place for ego. We have to continually deny ourselves and look to Christ. Ouch! That was a fail. Let me go and make coffee for Mike!
Enjoy the evening!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
