It was some time in 2013 that we got Truffles back. A few years before, she was owned by the neighbour who asked us to look after her while they sorted out their accommodation. When they had, they collected her and we bid her a sad goodbye, not expecting to ever see her again. We had loved her so much and were very sad to see her go.
When her owner phoned a few years later in 2013 and asked if we could have her again, I said ‘yes!’ But I also said we had bonded with her and it was very hard to give her back. The owner promptly said we would keep her.
And so she arrived one sunny afternoon looking very skinny indeed. I set about trying to fatten her up. Winter came and she certainly grew in size, but not in weight.
I had to put up with the neighbours looking sorrowfully at her and wondering why she was so very thin. A number of neighbours fed her. But she didn’t get any heavier.
I eventually took her to the vet and had her checked out for all sorts of feline disorders – she was pronounced thin but healthy. I was so glad about that. So she went to the vet in 2013, January 2014, January 2015 and February 2016. She is due March 2017. She normally weighs 3kg. She eats the dry cat food for fussy cats.
She is a skinny cat….maybe I should call her petit!
End of story.
In winter though, she looks a lot bigger because her coat is a lot thicker…
But underneath all that fur is a 3kg skinny cat!
My precious, perfect, petit kitty. She warms my heart!
I’ve got enough photos of her.
She must be getting on – she’s probably close to 10 years old now.
Got to love cats!
Psalm 24:1
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it.
Including Truffles.
