12-12pm
Okay, Marathon is an exaggeration! But first, yesterday, David and I trundled through to Cape Town to see Granny. We took her Easter flowers, which she loved…
Then we took her out into the garden and just chatted…
The rose garden is a beautiful, peaceful, windfree spot…
Soon, the staff called us to bring Granny in for lunch. We took her back to her unit and kissed her goodbye.
After lunch and a Easter Sunday afternoon snooze, Mike & I decided to go for a walk. We drove to Fish Hoek Beach and walked along the catwalk to Simonstown Rd and then towards Glencairn. We crossed the road and walked through the lower streets of Glencairn ending on Glencairn Expressway (Blackhill Rd). Mike suggested we trot very slowly UP the hill….it rose before us….
….we were going run all the way up the hill, which we did, extremely slowly! We soon got very close to the top. I took advantage of taking a photo while Mike tied his shoelace…this is looking back down to Glencairn…There are two crosses at the top….two young men lost their lives in a car accident at this spot…
This is the top of the hill. Once you’ve past this spot, it’s downhill. The view from the crosses, looking down to Glencairn and False Bay…
So that’s the one ocean. Here’s the other side…the Noordhoek side with Chapman’s Peak…
We motored down the downhill. I just could not keep up with Mike who has not run for AGES. We didn’t make great time, but we did run the entire way, apart from stopping momentarily to take photos. We felt great.
That was yesterday. Today, I did the Rise and Shine show, came home and after a bit of shopping, have climbed into bed. We skipped breakfast and had an early lunch and once this is posted, I have a few small things to do for tomorrow’s show prep and then I’m going to sleep!
Oooh, there’s Mike bringing me coffee. Nice!
1 Peter 4:8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
