Mike Has Covid

Wednesday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day Grandpa had a positive Covid test! If you are reading this when you are much older, look up Covid to find out what it’s all about because in a few decades, it will be long forgotten. This was this morning’s sunrise. We would never have predicted what would happen during today.

Last night Mike coughed a bit and I didn’t think it sounded good but when he woke up, he felt okay. So okay in fact, that he went out to the Berry shop to buy me berries. His biggest irritation was a sore shoulder. When he got home, he said he was beginning to feel a little fluey. As the day progressed, he got worse and worse. His nose was streaming and he was looking very under the weather. When I took his temperature he had a mild fever. He was sickening for something. Later in the afternoon, he asked me to go buy him a Covid test and some Vitamin C.

He dived straight in and tested himself for Covid and blow me down, he was positive!

You never know what a day may hold, but there is always something. We still have things to be grateful for. If you are going to get Covid, get it after your holiday not before. Our last recollection of Mike having Covid was right before our cruise in November 2022. He had a rough 2 days and then started to rapidly improve, so we are hoping it will be the same this week, or maybe even quicker.

And of course, David is staying at arm’s length. He has been in Mike’s company but that was before he was coughing. David’s feeling fine. If anyone could get it, it will be me.

I worked for almost 8 hours & have just about caught up.  I went for a walk to the end of the road. My ankle felt it, so I think I do need to take care. I did the stairs twice.

Tomorrow is another day.

Psalm 111:4
He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
