5-21pm
Our day began at 3am, when we woke up to find it strangely light outside. It was cold. Mike got up and lit the fire again and then we put our warm dressing gowns on and went outside to investigate. The moon was not full, but with no light pollution, it was incredibly bright. Brighter than we are used to – it shone down like a massive torch lighting our bedroom and casting a shadow over us. You probably could have read using it! The stars faded in its light. Earlier on in the evening – on Saturday night, we had gone outside and done some star-gazing. The moon had not yet risen and we saw the Southern Cross and the Milky Way as I have never seen them before. It was spectacular. And to think, God names the stars…
Psalm 147 verse 4
He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
This is the display that He puts on every night, yet only those away from the cities can appreciate it. Barn Owl Farm was the perfect viewing point.
It was cold out, so Mike and I went back inside to warm up next to the fire and fell asleep watching the flames dance about….
We woke up again around 7ish and Mike restarted the fire. I got up and made coffee and then breakfast, which we had in front of the fire. Ruby visited and she is just the dearest thing….
We cleared up our mess and packed the car. And then said goodbye to our exceptional hosts…Carl and Tori…with dog Ellie…
They really looked after us and we came home with 6 free ‘free range’ eggs and a bag of lemons and some pomegranates. We headed home past picturesque landscape…
…and we said goodbye to the quiet roads…
Then it was back onto the R62, and through Barrydale…
Back through Montagu and Ashton and then and then and then we arrived at our ‘resting’ place….
Yes! We did 9 holes. It’s a fantastic golf course and I’ll do a blog on it, just not now.
We picked up some groceries and arrived home about an hour ago! I think it is accurate for me to say we have sucked the marrow out of today!
As soon as this is posted, I will shower and then call Stacey! Back to work tomorrow. A change of season is coming.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
