Lock Down Day 12

Tuesday

There are things I miss and things I enjoy about lock down. I’m missing seeing David! I’m missing seeing Julian, who of course is now stuck in Johannesburg. I’m missing being able to go to Swellendam to see the Stacey, Adrian and Elsie. I’m missing the building. I’m missing exercise!

What I’m enjoying is more peace and safety. Far fewer people around. The last couple of nights, our neighbourhood watch has reported some ‘lurkers’ and as soon as they have been reported, the police have arrived to look for them. It is the strangest thing that people aimlessly walking the streets can immediately be arrested. You are allowed to walk to the shops, but you must go straight there, don’t stop, shop, leave and return home directly. This evening Mike and I tried it. I thought the shops would be open after 6pm, but we got there only be told they had all just closed. Nothing was open. Tomorrow, we will try again. It was nice to get out though.  Even when the lock down lifts, I’m not sure I’ll head right back to gym. I’ll have to see what the Corona stats look like.

Today I worked like a Trojan for the entire morning. By 2pm, the work was done. I’d worked 6 hours. This afternoon Mike made brown bread.

Today in South Africa there were 63 new Corona cases and one death.

Today I am grateful for another day. One of the things I love to do is look back at what we were doing a year ago. On 7th April 2019, I took this photo at Noordhoek Farm Village.

Babies, bicycles, horses, walkers. What has been will be again.

2 Corinthians 4:18

We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Powerful words.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
