Living With Less

Saturday

It is true that you get to a certain age when the building up of a home and life that happens when you are a young adult gives way to scaling down. This is for me anyway. It may not be for everyone. I just want to live with less. I want more order and I want less stuff.

Today I took most of my clothes out my closet, put them on my bed and started going through them. It was great! It is the start. I am going to move slowly through my bedroom, cleaning out cupboards, shredding decades old documents and thinning down what I live with.  Once I’ve finished with my bedroom and study, I’ll head for the kitchen. My goal is to get it done before the end of September. That will need discipline.

Today, we met Julian for a leisurely breakfast. We went our separate ways and I did a little work before getting stuck into the closet. Julian arrived shortly before 1pm and we set off over Chapman’s Peak, taking the scenic route to the airport. We stopped off at the Blue Cafe.

This is a photo from 2018. It has now been extended. It was busy. We always enjoy visiting.

Then it was off to the airport. When I got home, I chilled. Mike made a wonderful dinner and now I’m back in bed. One reason is because of my left knee! Yesterday while I was walking, all of a sudden there was a sharp pain on the right side of my left knee. It was very uncomfortable and seemed to get worse. I wasn’t doing anything particularly strenuous. Today it has been better, but I’m just taking it easy in the hope that I can go back to gym tomorrow.

Stacey should be phoning soon, so let me wrap this up.

Isaiah 54:10

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed.

God is faithful.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
