Life Lessons Through Doing a Puzzle

Saturday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day you and I had a good chat. You have become so verbal and articulate since you started Grade R. You have always had a good vocabulary but now you are really using it. You showed me your ‘cave’ and your flashing light. I showed you Claw’d sleeping. He actually slept in such a funny position today. He had his paws crossed and had one foot standing!

So, I’m pressing on with the puzzle. I gave up on the bougainvillea & learned a couple of lessons applicable to life. 1. Slow down.  This is not a sprint -it’s a marathon, so take your time and enjoy the journey. And 2. If life seems too difficult, try to simplify the process. So that’s what I did with the puzzle.  I slowed down and took a simpler route.

This is the picture…

And now I’m up to here…

I’m leaving the hard parts to last. I’m back to enjoying it instead of finding it a grind, which it was when I was painfully and unsuccessfully fiddling with the purple. There are some benefits to finding places for little pieces of cardboard. 😅 I find it relaxing and a wonderful distraction.

The other thing I did today was walk to Harbour Bay and back. It was pleasantly overcast and breezy so not too hot. There was plenty of activity at Glencairn with both wind and kite surfers enjoying themselves.

A while after I got home, out of nowhere came thunder, a flash or two of lightening and a downpour of rain. The little storm has passed over and now the sun is shining again. Tomorrow is moving day. The guests in the cottage move out and a new couple arrive – this time for more than a month.

Mike is making hamburgers tonight & I’m ready for them.

Psalm 27:13-14
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heard and wait for the Lord.

Waiting is key. Not easy, but necessary.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx:)
