The other week I woke up with a very strange buzzing in my head. It was like ringing in the ears only it was buzzing in my head. It was the strangest thing, something I’ve never had before and quite unnerving. Within about 15 minutes of my waking up, it had disappeared and has not returned, but it reminded me that life can change in the blink of an eye. What if….there were many what ifs. By the time it disappeared, I had already Googled it and discovered a number of horrible scenarios. What if I had one of those? Life would change in the blink of an eye.
As I have watched the aftermath of the terror attack in London unfold on TV, the same thing came to mind – how life can change in the blink of an eye.
It is just a reminder to me to make the most of every day – to learn to enjoy every day.
Everyday, make a plan to enjoy the little things in life that give pleasure.
Smell the roses; enjoy the sweetness of birdsong; greenness of the grass and the smell of the rain.
Relish the aroma of coffee, absorb the ticking of a clock; tune in to the rustle of leaves; smile at the wagging of a dog’s tale and the purring of a cat. Appreciate life.
And treasure relationships.
Life has ups and downs. Some days are hard days – irritating days – days with conflict – uncertainty – sadness – ill health. Other days are joyful days, exciting days, fruitful days, happy days.
Regardless of the days – of how we feel – we need to keep our focus on the right Person.
“God wants us to lean entirely on Him; that is what faith really is. You have to trust God to keep you in His will, straighten out any crooked paths in front of you, keep you on the narrow path that leads to life.” (Joyce Meyer)
Regardless of what kind of day it is for you:
2 Chronicles 20:15
“The Lord says this to you: be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God’s.”
I love that. The battle is not yours but God’s!
#240 of my 1000 thanks is that the frustrating internet issues I had today got sorted in a couple of hours.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
