Wednesday
It’s hard for me to get my head around it being March already. The first few months of this year have rushed by. The next few will too. Last November we made two significant purchases. The first was pretty expensive and the build was in its infancy. Even at that stage we didn’t quite know how this would pan out. Mike kept saying that once we were out the ground, all would be well. In November, we were still excavating and yet we paid R105000 for internal cladding. We imported it from China as it was cheaper that way. Thankfully, it got on the ship before the Corona virus took hold in China and late last week, the ship docked in Cape Town . Tomorrow our cladding boards arrive on site! They are big and today Werner called to say he finally had to take down the branch of the tree that hangs beautifully over the stairs. Mike is jumping with joy as he will no longer bang his head on it. At least the rest of the tree gets to stay.
The other thing we bought last November was the granite for our kitchen island…
It’s crazy that in the next month we will see this cut and fabricated ahead of installation probably some time in May. Is that possible? I don’t know. God willing.
The Corona virus has highlighted the fragility of life and plans. We trust the Lord.
So today I had our internet service provider spend (wait for it) three hours testing and swapping out our dish. I was told they had to swap out our router which should take 15 minutes. When they arrived and I told them they had a few minutes before I had a work Skype meeting, they said there had been a misunderstanding and they needed two hours. They said they would do the testing first and then would take down the line, so I got on with my meeting and an hour in, told them to pull the line and I continued using my cell phone as a hot spot. I now have much faster internet:
Download: 14.44Mbps
Upload: 5.31Mbps
Once that was done, I finished my work and then went to Echo where Mike was working. He has Courage for help today and tomorrow which is so wonderful. Apart from Mike, there were a team of 6 guys tasked with the heavy-duty job of lugging the concrete ribs up the hill. They started by putting them on the patio…there are 6 here. There were another 11 still on the roadside.
Here they come…
And up onto the first floor…
Tomorrow and Friday, they will be put in place along side the beams that are having the steel added…
And in between them will be polystyrene blocks for this floor…
They were much easier to bring up! You can see the ribs they had already delivered there as well. I think once this floor has its concrete on, we will all be really happy. So by the end of March, that floor should be done. By the end of April, maybe the roof will be on, God willing. If all goes well, we may be able to move in August. But with these uncertain times, it’s difficult to know for sure.
Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,

With Gym on hold, I took to the outdoors and marched enthusiastically up Harrington Rd and did a loop down past the hospital. About 4.5km.
