Last Blog From the MSC Sinfonia

This is the last blog from the MSC Sinfonia. Even if we decided to do this cruise again (which won’t be for a while!), next year, MSC are bringing out the MSC Musica for the South African summer cruise season.

It has been an amazing 23 days and we have enjoyed every moment of it. There have been so many memories created here, from leaving Venice on a spectacular autumn evening watching the most amazing sunset to walking the streets of Jerusalem and trying (with difficulty) to imagine what it was like in the time of Jesus. Watching the dolphins from the gym and seeing the most amazing city of Petra. Walking among ancient ruins of Olympia, the entertainment on the ship, the food, the friendly staff, the gym and the preciousness of having a balcony on which to sit day or night and admire the untamed beauty of the open sea. It was all good.

Yesterday, we got to experience some very rough weather – incredibly large waves that clobbered the prow with a humongous ‘doof’ . Even some of the staff were a little ‘green around the gills’. I took a seasickness pill which definitely curbed any motion sickness. The thing that really helped though was an hour at the gym.

I took some photos of the inside of the ship….this is our door…

And this is the passage along which walked to the upstairs dining room…

Up these stairs…

And here is the upstairs dining room – it has a massive buffet – this was breakfast…

The outside deck yesterday was pretty empty….had something to do with the 65km/hour winds!

And here we are…

We are in SA waters.

It will be good to get home and get back to reality. This morning as I read my Bible, (I’ve got up to Lamentations), I was reminded through all the ups and downs of life, there is one thing for sure,

Lamentations 3:22-23

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness.”

#461 of my 1000 thanks is for a home to return to!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
