I spent the morning at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Johannesburg, meeting and greeting teacher applicants for their interviews. Most will be successful and others not. When I first began this job, I found it very difficult to cope with the idea that some of these teachers will not be successful in their job interview. They would be very disappointed, but ultimately, they have to trust the selectors understanding of the needs. If they were wrongly selected, they most probably would not cope. It was a good morning and as I head on home, I’m satisfied.
Johannesburg is looking very green. We had lovely soaking rain last night. In the early evening, we went for a walk and I was reminded of my childhood. Jacaranda trees lined the streets and it took me back to the city of my birth where Jacaranda pods lay on the road and were such a familiar sight…I picked one up…
I am sure there are Jacaranda trees in Cape Town – I think I have spotted some of them in the northern suburbs but where I live, I’ve not seen a single one.
Right now as I type this, I’m in a bit of a rush. I’m at the airport using 30 minutes Always On complimentary airport airtime. My flight was delayed by 30 minutes to instead of arriving home at 7-15, it will be closer to 8pm. I was intending to write the blog on my return but I’ll try squeeze it in now.
# 103 of my 1000 thanks is success in Johannesburg with our Jo’burg teachers. Very happy.
I have started reading the longest psalm in the Bible.
Psalm 119:12
Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
Amen! I want my life to be useful to God. I want my life to be helpful for others. I want my life to reflect His love.
My boarding call has been made.
These are the days!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
