Today I had an interesting lesson! James came to visit CCFm. He is Cassiem’s son and is 3 & ¾! He was very shy! I called him to come and see me and instead of coming over to my desk, he hid behind his Dad’s legs…as shy children are prone to do! In my bag I had big 180g bars of chocolate for some of the staff for Christmas. So I took one of these out and then called James again! Ha ha! He FLEW across the office and into my arms! What a change in attitude! The power of a bar of chocolate over a little boy!
It came to mind how fickle we are. If James had more faith in me, he may have come immediately. But he hadn’t met me before. I guess it’s the same with us and the Lord. When we don’t know Him, we don’t think of running into His arms. If we had more faith in Him, we would rush to Him without having to be lured by a gift or a promise. My experience is that when we do approach Him, He has those gifts ready and waiting. We just need to take the first step.
Revelation 3:20: Jesus saying to you: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me”.
I wish I had a photo of James. I would have taken one but my cell phone battery was dead, so the only photo I got was this one of the sun rise…
Love & blessings!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
