Dear Elsie
Today was the day I watched a penguin being caught. I was in the sea, so didn’t have my cell phone available to take photos. When we walked down to the beach this morning, there was apparently a stray penguin hanging about just off the cat walk. We didn’t see it, but it would have looked like this.
Someone must have reported it because by the time I got in the water and was almost out by the barrel, there was a man and his helper on the cat walk. He was on the phone & then waving madly to someone near the beach. I thought, at first, he was a shark-spotter supervisor because the net guys were busy putting the net out. I carried on with my swim, going back to the beach, meeting Mike and then swimming out again. It was then I noticed the 2 had become 4. Two ladies had joined the party. One of the men then stepped off the cat walk. The guys in the boat putting out the net were close by and watching with interest. I asked them what was going on and they said, ‘they’re trying to catch a penguin.’ I watched the man creep across the rock trying not to freak the penguin out. Eventually, he took a step forward and scooped the penguin up in his gloved hands and passed it to the lady who put it in the penguin box. It was then carried off to safety.
And that’s how I came to learn it takes 4 people to catch a penguin.
I worked 6 hours. I had a haircut. I got up way too early, but got to see a beautiful sunrise. 5.31am

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
