There is one thing in my house that gets on my nerves. It drives me nuts. It causes me to have a tantrum every time I use it. It’s stupid, inefficient, dirty and annoying. It’s badly made, unstable and causes me to sneeze. I shout at it. It’s probably the only time I shout.
It may be sitting there looking very smug in the sunlight…but it actually is quite evil, if an inanimate object can be evil. It’s the stupid vacuum cleaner and it brings out the worst in me.
Mike and David went down to the shops to buy milk and I thought, while they were out, I would ‘quickly’ vacuum. So I got it all set up, moved furniture and lugged it out. As I started, it fell over, all the dust came out and the carpet was worse than before. I clipped the lid back on, picked it up, the lid wasn’t clipped properly, the bottom fell out with more dirt. I tried again, same thing happened. AAAAAARGHHH. I now applied brutal force and stormed outside with it announcing to anyone who could possibly be listening that I was now cleaning my stupid vacuum cleaner.
By the time Mike and David returned, there was no serene Helga but a black as thunder grimacing face that greeted them!
Mike took over. He knows.
What does he say. He massages my shoulders and says, “it’s fine, there is nothing wrong with the vacuum cleaner – it’s the user that’s the problem!”
Maybe I, in time, will learn to keep my sense of humour over the vacuum cleaner!
Oh dear, it got worse when I read my Proverb for the day!
Proverbs 21:19
Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife!
Ha ha!
That will teach me.
#392 of my 1000 thanks is for the yellow vacuum cleaner. Time for a new attitude!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
