I Made Apple Strudel

Friday

Today was the day…

I made apple strudel for the very first time. I’ll make it again for sure, with some modifications. It’s the easiest recipe in the world for a beginner!

I bought puff pastry and a big tin of apples and that made it super duper simple.

Roll the puff pastry out…and cut it like this. Put apples in down the centre as shown and sprinkle them liberally

Plait…

Put it in the oven 200C for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown. (I brushed it with milk)

What I’ll do differently next time:

  1. Instead of plaiting the dough directly on the counter, I’ll put it on baking paper and do the cutting and plaiting of the dough on the baking paper, then transfer it to the baking sheet. It will be much easier doing it that way. It will go into the oven on baking paper which will make it easier to get off the pan.
  2. Also the strips don’t need to be as long as I made them. I could have left a fatter piece in the middle and used all the apples from a big tin.
  3. I’ll put the apple pieces in a bowl, add sugar and cinnamon and mix before putting it on the dough (This time, I laid the apples out on the dough and sprinkled sugar and cinnamon on top.)
  4. I’ll add raisins to the mix. That will be a tasty addition.

Good start!

This morning we went to the beach and had a good swim. After a little work, I returned to the beach and met with friends for a natter. This afternoon, I worked.

Weekend!

Hebrews 7:25

He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
