Monday & Thursday there’s gym. Tuesday Mavis comes. Friday is Bible study.
Wednesday there are no time constraints. Sleep til noon (but I’d never do that!). The day is my own.
I love Wednesdays. It’s a simple easy day and it’s made all the better by Mike being home. He made coffee and served me in bed. The best cappuccino. He got up and ‘went to work.’ His commute now entails walking downstairs to his home office. I got up and got dressed as well. My commute is shorter. We have a study area off our bedroom. Picture me sitting in this chair….
Lots of things get done in front of this screen. I work, I write, I blog, I bank. It actually has become quite a happy place for me. By day I can see cars, fire engines, police cars, driving busily behind my home. I see the building site beyond that….the tall red crane still stamping the land. I see trees and birds and cats that occasionally run over the cottage roof. I love to work here in the evening. My desk lamp casting a warm comforting glow. Yes, this is a good working space. I don’t need more.
Never despise the day of small beginnings. All my work was started on my notebook on the left. I churned out work in the cheapest way possible. My overheads were zero. But then I was also only earning about $5 an hour, just a few hours a day. At least it was US $ and not Zimbabwean! I am earning a bit more now, and have bought a decent chair, seeing as I can occupy it for several hours a day. I also bought the big flat screen, so I can see more of what I’m typing. The keyboard is ergonomic and my fingers tap easily on the keys.
There are no office politics here. It’s hard to argue with myself. I do things my way! But I also serve. My clients are important and I do as they ask. I don’t argue. I just get on with the job and they appreciate that!
Upwork has been fantastic is assisting me to earn. It’s online earning. I’ve done a number of blogs on it. This was the latest I did in January – Earn US$ Online
Be prepared to start small and low and build up.
Zecharian 4:10
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin..
Everything I have comes from God, so I try to be generous. I can help some, but I can’t help all. If all of us help some, imagine how many will be helped?!
Keep the smile going.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
