Saturday
Prologue
It is a still quiet morning. The clock has struck its 8th chime. The dregs of foam lie in the bottom on my coffee cup. I have a day. A Saturday. Charged with the rush of caffeine I imagine the potential of this day. There is no work. There is tonnes of work. Three small emails lie in my inbox. They will take me 3 minutes to sort out. There is no work. There are two recycling bags on my right. One filled with clothes. One filled with shredded paper. They are just the tip of the iceberg. There is tonnes of work.
From my window, I see outside, the sky is blue. A few patches of cotton wool clouds wait to evaporate. The trees are still. Cyclists whizz by. Cars head for the beach. Saturday shoppers get out early. Such a beautiful day to be outside.
Oh the potential of such a day as this. The last day of August 2019. A perfect spring day. A day to be outside – surely?
By the time, I climb into bed tonight what will I have done with this day?
What Happened Next?
I did the work – the three emails had become 4 and it took 23 minutes, not three. After that work, I climbed back into bed!
It was after 9am by the time I got up. I got dressed and had breakfast. I then started cleaning the piano room. Mike cleaned the kitchen. It really gave me a head start. After coffee at just before 11am, I cleaned the kitchen floor and then had a break. At 1pm, I finished cleaning the lounge and then headed upstairs to do my bedroom. I did part of it. Mike suggested a walk.
We walked all the way along Ranger Road to Echo Road and all the way back . It took more than 2 hours and we only got home after 6pm. Beautiful part of Ranger Rd…
Mike has now gone off to get some dinner.
So after the creative writing of the early morning, I’m now satisfied that I got a lot of cleaning done. It feels good to see everything so clean. A peaceful evening lies ahead.
Romans 5:1
Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen!
Good bye August! You’ve been great. See you again next year!
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
