For the first time in many months, I got up early this morning and headed for Fish Hoek Beach. I got there in time to see the sun rising…
I took a slow jog along the cat walk, up the Sunnycove steps and back to where I’d left my towel. Then stripping down to my swimming costume, I trotted into the sea. Getting in quickly, I lolled around like a (very small) whale! It was freezing and soon I was quite numb. I stayed in for several minutes, swimming between the waves or just floating on my back admiring the morning. When I was thoroughly cold, I ambled out, and had a shower to wash off the bulk of the salt. As I walked away from the shower, I thought to myself, “I forgot it felt this good.” Mike & I used to do this often. Go for a run and then a swim. The feeling afterwards is so good….and we’ve often sat on the bench with the first rays of sunshine beaming down on us and said, “money can’t buy this feeling.” Every joint and muscle relaxed. Pheromones danced through my veins. No stress. Just sheer relaxation. You have to experience it to believe it.
And so my day began.
Psalm 95:5
“The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land.”
We get to enjoy it.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
